Artist's Comments

This is deviantART. What do the majority of people think of when they think of art? Drawings, paintings, photographs? It's true, when we think of art, we think of something visual. The written verse rarely crosses our mind.

So it's understandable that deviantART would be overrun with...well, artwork. I'm not going against that nor do I want it to change. I simply think that writers here on dA do get the short end of the stick; too much so, actually.

I never necessarily expect us to flourish; I'd simply like to see a few more Poetry and Prose thumbnails alongside all the fanart (which sadly makes up 80% of each page) and such when I check the Popular category every morning.

It may be easier to look at a picture than read a paragraph describing the same thing, but I can guarantee that the pictures that the writing will unlock within your imagination will be one thousand times grander. So give it a shot, folks, and support dA's writers.

P.S.: Yes, I realize that the stamp should say, '...doesn't mean I'm less...', however, I was pressed for space. If it makes you feel better, I'm from Texas, so pretend it's a southern colloquialism.

Definitely agree with you on this one. It's ridiculous when someone tells me I don't understand anything about art since I can't draw. :hmm:

No one's personally bugged me about this particular subject, but I hate that it happens to others. >_< Their are a fair amount of decent people here, but there are some who go past rude. Sometimes its stuff like this. Its stupid, is what it is. Instant fav.

I like this stamp, because you're right there are few who read and give love to the written culture on DA but. They're are many who do. I have a good 50+ watchers, who watch me for my writings. so it's not an forgotten talent yet. there is still hope. :)

fave it would eb nice to have a balence of art and literature on dA. i would love it,even thought i can draw...most of my dA account in made up of Literature
